Paradies Gasse

At the ground floor of the Madison Shopping Gallery a passageway was designed in a form of an old town street. Its shape, the character of small architectural details bring back the memory of Paradies Gasse that existed here before the war. The width of the passageway reflects the width of the historical street. The division of shop windows is a reflection of separate town houses that once stood in Paradies Gasse. The axis of the ancient street has been marked by a special rail. The character of the passageway is stressed with specially selected decorative elements: coats of arms of Gdansk families, reliefs, mask figures and decorative keystones over the portals designed in accordance with architectural details of the City Hall, Arthus’ Court and the streets of Mariacka, Okopowa, Plebania.
